This is an Alienware m7700 review to show you some of the features of this computer. The blue beast as it is affectionately know by Alienware gamers is one of the heaviest Alienware laptops on the market. With the additional power brick it weighs more than 15 lbs making it damn heavy to cart around by hand. This fact alone makes the Alienware m7700 more a desktop replacement than a laptop.

The m7700 has a fast AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ dual core processor to pack a punch. It is very fast and the 256 meg Nvidia GeForce Go 6800 Ultra PCI Express graphics card and a 17″ WXGA display delight the hardiest of gamers for a mere $3,000. Top go even higher you can fork out another $2,000 and get more bang for your buck.

m7700 Functionality
Since the machine is really not a portable one, despite its initial appearance, it is nonetheless a great desktop replacement and with its blue glossy color paint job it looks too cool to be missed.
A very cool feature is the alien head on the lid that lights up in blue when the Aurora m7700 is powered on.
You will find no less than four fans on the bottom as well as a large outlet on the left hand side. The 4 slot flash card reader (SD/MMC/Memory Stick/CF type I and II/Smart Media) is situated on the left side and is protected by a removable rubber cover.
Above the card reader is the PCMCIA slot and four USB 2.0 ports. Plus there are two four pin unwired FireWire ports, an SVideo port, an IR window and four audio in and out ports.
The CD/DVD drive door is located near the front on the right side of the beast. On the back you’ll find a standard VGA port, parallel port, PS2 port, DVI video port modem, Ethernet and power. There is also a large vent.
